BoldtSmith Packaging was brought in by a toy manufacturer to redesign 300+ retail SKUs following the Amazon Certified Frustration Free Packaging (FFP) guidelines.
Being certified FFP means the packaging is recyclable and comes without excess packaging materials, such as hard plastic clamshell casings, plastic bindings and wire ties.
While in parallel increasing the sustainability of the packaging, another positive impact is the reduction in packaging material, labor and freight costs. One specific SKU we worked on resulted in the following statistics:
- 33% reduction in size for the FFP design vs retail
- 36% more packages on pallet
- 1,944 more packages per 53’ truck
