This blog is the first of a four-part series that identifies how BoldtSmith Packaging can reduce your product damage and packaging costs thru selecting the right foam!
Part #1) Supply Chain
Part #4) Foam Design
Part #1 – Supply Chain
Before selecting the type of foam, the correct density and creating the design, we need to first understand how your product can ship. Products that ship thru small parcel (Fed-Ex/UPS) will require a different foam system than products that ship palletized full truck load.
Small parcel shipments typically require a foam that protects the product from multiple drops with varying heights in different orientations. Palletized shipments however will have a decreased risk for individual drops since the product is unitized.
These two supply chains have different risks and opportunities for product damage. The foam type, density and design must accommodate for this. Stay tuned for the remaining parts on how to determine this information!
